It is quite common for download files to be incorrectly treated as
"suspect" and the download being blocked. Firstly, please be
assured that our downloads are quite safe and have been thoroughly scanned
before being upload to our web site.
Unfortunately there is no one easy answer, as the "blocking" can be from
a number of sources - your web browser, Windows Defender, specific antivirus
software, or your user security settings. It is all down to the
algorithms used by the particular security software not recognising PC-Rail,
as it is not one of the "big name" software
developers/providers.
There will always be a way to by-pass the warning message and allow the
download by means of a "Run anyway" button or the equivalent,
depending on the source of the "block". You may need to click on
"More info" to access this facility.
If your security software does give such "false positives" you should contact the supplier of the program and request them to correct the matter.
The following advice may be useful:
The download may be blocked by one web browser but allowed by other(s).
For example, Microsoft Edge may block the download but Firefox or
Google Chrome do not
Sometimes it is your firewall which is blocking it so you could check your firewall settings. If asked whether to "white list" PC-Rail you should do so.
Windows Defender is often the cause of this problem - further information here and here.
If Norton is removing your downloads you can restore them - see the guide here.
This problem can occur when downloading the PC-Rail Plus software, but should not occur when downloading individual simulation data (zip) files.
