One of our biggest and most complicated simulations, featuring the new line built to serve the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Regular services on this line add to the intense CityRail suburban services and considerable freight traffic.
This simulation features three of the panels in Strathfield signal control
centre to the west of central Sydney. It includes 3 stations, Lidcombe,
Flemington and Olympic Park as well as a complex arrangement of junctions,
including access to the Flemington Car Sidings and the Enfield goods lines.
The method of operation of the simulation will be familiar to users of our
Power Box series, although the train numbers and destinations will seem strange
at first.
The timetable supplied is a lot longer than usual to cover the varying
traffic patterns and it includes the full morning peak period. We worked closely with a number of experts from the Sydney area to ensure the
greatest possible authenticity of the signalling and timetable details.
Some comments from a user:
\"Congratulations on another great simulation. This is without doubt the most
difficult I have had the pleasure in trying to operate! With York and Brighton,
I can keep things in some sort of order by `keeping my finger on the pulse` but
when this one starts hotting up I have to cheat and turn the rate down to real
time!! The frequencies are similar to the tube in the rush hour, and the
shuttles make life a lot harder. I can`t remember how many times I stopped one
on the first controlled signal into the single line section!!
