Oxford looks fairly simple but is actually quite demanding. With a limited station layout, busy passenger services and the need to shunt terminating trains from one platform to another via the carriage sidings there is a lot to be done. A variety of freight traffic to be handled adds to the challenge.
The layout is as it was between 1970 and 2011 and the timetable included is for 1993, nearly 500 train movements over 24 hours.
