GENERAL

The power signalbox at Trent was opened in 1969 and has an NX Panel typical of the period. Multiple aspect colour-light signals are used, with full track-circuiting.

RUNNING AND LOOP LINES

There are no lines signalled for bidirectional working,

Passenger (and other trains of classes 1,2,3 and 5), of length up to 15 coaches, may stop at Long Eaton station. 
    
Freight trains and light engines may terminate or originate from Ratcliffe Power Station (CEGB), or in the Down Goods Loop. Freight trains may also stop at Long Eaton station for crew changes.

The Down Goods Loop can hold up to 32 wagons. Trains of up to 26 wagons can be accommodated on the West Curve Goods Line to allow passage of other Down trains round the curve.

Wrong Direction movements are NOT permitted for scheduled passenger and other trains of classes 1,2,3 and 5.
