Glasgow Central Simulation

General

The layout is based on Track and Signalling diagrams dated 2018 and later.

In real life there are a number of workstations for signallers to control train movements, so there are many Auto buttons provided as well as multi-route controls to reduce the workload on this simulation.

This simulation is best run on a high specification computer with wide screen monitor.

Signalling

Standard British multiple aspect signalling is in use, with Track Circuit Block working.

Main signals are 2-, 3- and 4-aspect colour lights, with position-light subsidiary and ground shunt signals.

Many routes are provided with Auto buttons adjacent to the (semi-automatic) signals – when the A button is activated the main route is in automatic working mode.

Repeater signals are shown on the layout with black text on a yellow background – these are not controlled by the signaller.

Platforms 10 to 15 (from right to left) are shown under the fine metal roof structure. Platforms 10, 12, 13, 14, and 15 contain Class 380 (Desiro) electric multiple units. A Class 156 d.m.u. is in platform 11.

The photo is taken from Platform 11, showing all trains awaiting timed departures.
