GENERAL

The Brighton area, as represented in this simulation, is controlled from one 'panel' of the Three Bridges power signalbox, which was opened in 1983. The simulation is based very closely on the real BR installation.

Standard BR multiple aspect signalling is in use, with Track Circuit Block working.

RUNNING LINES

Bidirectional working is available on all the Brighton platform lines and the immediate approaches, Hove platforms 1 and 2 and Preston Park platform 2. The Carriage Roads are bidirectional, as well as short stretches of the Up Main and Up Loop lines at Preston Park.

Shunting movements on the Down Main at Preston Park are permitted as far as the Limit of Shunt (no.299).

Permissive working of trains of classes 1,2,3 and 5 is permitted on all platform lines.

Note that the scale used on the track diagram is not uniform.
