PC-Rail: New Simulation Development
Support Policy
- The published data structure and the PC-Rail
software are essentially complete and no further significant changes
or enhancements are planned.
- The PC-Rail simulation and Builder software and documentation are made available free of
charge, without warranty of any kind.
- The amount of support which can be provided by PC-Rail is limited.
- The developer is free to seek advice through the pcrtest group,
and from individual members of the group.
- Developers are encouraged to share their expertise to help others with issues arising during work on their own projects.
- Any user is free to develop any simulation of their choice but if intended for potential future release it is recommended that the developer advises PC-Rail and obtains a unique code for their project.
- Developers may offer their completed projects for distribution by PC-Rail.
- If it is agreed that the simulation is complete and fully tested the following shall apply:
- The developer will be asked to confirm his agreement to his simulation data being made available to all users of PC-Rail without any restriction.
- Where possible PC-Rail may be able to offer a modest one-off payment on release, but please note this will never adequately repay the vast number of hours which such development takes.
- The released simulation will be regarding as finished and updated versions will only be released to correct minor errors missed during testing.
- All those who have made a significant contribution to the development and testing of a simulation will receive free registration of that simulation for unlimited future use.
